According to reports, Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOGL) is teaming up with the Indian government to make a toilet locator app that will help users to find public bathrooms in order to battle the countrywide issue of open urination.

Reports said that U.S. Internet giant’s new washroom locator app, has been launched on Thursday in the states of Delhi and Madhya Pradesh, this helps people find access to clean public toilets. This app will also have an extensive range of features such as hygiene ratings, the style of toilet and even will mention if it requires a fee to use or free.

Meanwhile the app will help users to type words such as “toilet” or “lavatory” or Hindi words like “swachh” and “shulabh” meaning clean to access the closest washrooms in the area.

“When you search for ‘public toilet’ on Google Maps in an area where the service is available, you’ll see a list of restrooms near you, including the respective address and opening hours,” Sanket Gupta, product manager Google Maps India, said at a launch event in Delhi.

“For instance, if you’re travelling on the national highway 8 in Gurugram, locating a public toilet can be challenging and most often the only option is going to nearby restaurants and cafes. Having this information handy can make things much easier.”

It has been one of the most highlighted issue in India to get safe and healthy sanitation. According to lots of official surveys close to almost 70 percent of Indian households have no access to toilets. That’s why, people are required to excrete in open spaces. The latest toilet locator from Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOGL) can lay a key role in such situations.
